Atari 1040STF
Released in 1986, the Atari 1040STF was an upgraded version of the original Atari 520ST, featuring 1 Mb of RAM (as opposed to the 520ST's 512 Kb of RAM) and an internal floppy drive. For graphics, the Atari ST is capable of 16 colors out of a palette of 512 at a resolution of 320x200, 4 colors at a resolution of 640x200, and Monochrome at a resolution of 640x400. Although not as impressive the Amigas graphics and being more comparable to IBMs EGA graphics, the Atari ST was still a competent gaming machine for the time and was able to find a niche in the music industry thanks to the built in MIDI port, allowing the Atari ST to be using as a cheap sythenizer controller.
